The fifth annual Long Island Fleece and Fiber Fair will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18, at Hallockville Museum Farm. The event, co-sponsored by Long Island Livestock Company, will feature demonstrations of fiber arts and related processes, other folk arts and a “fiber market” in the Naugles Barn. Special activities will include sheep herding, a llama obstacle course and shearing demonstrations. (more…)

Southold Historical Society will host its annual art auction Saturday, April 26, at Castello di Borghese Vineyard in Cutchogue. A preview will begin at 6 p.m., followed by bidding at 7.
Current local artists whose work will be offered include John Crimmins, Laura Westlake, Dominick DiLorenzo, Jada Rowland, Lee Cleary and Barbara Zegarek. Local artists from the past include Caroline M. Bell, Whitney M. Hubbard, Albert Latham, Otto J. Kurth and Franklin G. Brooks. (more…)

Work is sought for ‘Shadow,’ a juried, all-media exhibit presented by East End Arts in Riverhead. Guest juror is artist Ivan Kustura. The show will run from March 14 through April 18.
Each artist may submit up to three original works in painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, video, sculpture and poetry. Visual art entries will be accepted March 6 to 8 at the 133 East Main St. gallery. Poetry entries will be accepted online only from Feb. 18 to 25.
