Congratulations to Dianne Marie (Weiss) Niemeyer and her husband, Staff Sgt. Gary Niemeyer, on the birth of their son, Chasyn Garrett, on Aug. 19. Chasyn weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces and measured 18 inches. Dianne is a 2003 graduate of Riverhead High School. Gary is in the U.S. Army and is stationed in Fort Stewart, Ga. Proud grandparents Kathy and Ricky Muller are simply delighted with the new addition to their family. (more…)
Happy September. I hope everyone returned to school without too many tears — kids and moms alike. I wish everyone a great school year. Funny how now that it’s September we’re having the hottest days of the summer. Oh well, it was a great summer weather-wise, even if we didn’t hit 90 degrees. I’ll take it over shoveling snow and dealing with ice any day.

Kevin Mann, former faculty leader of the Global Awareness Club and prominent member of the Hope Children’s Fund, who recently retired, sent a message to the parents and students of Shoreham-Wading River High School to express his thanks to the community for a “40-year relationship that started in 1974 and ended with the commencement of the Class of 2014.
