A Ridge woman was arrested on drunken driving charges Thursday after she was caught driving erratically in Riverhead with her 2-month-old child in the car, according to a police press release.
Riverhead police said they received a report at around 2:30 p.m. of a woman driving erratically with an infant in the car at around 2:30 p.m.
Police later located Megan Finne, 20, in a vehicle matching the description in the report, officials said.
She was arrested after police found her to be intoxicated and transported to headquarters for processing, officials said.
Ms. Finne was charged with DWI Leandra’s Law and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, police said.

George Kurovics was proud of his military work in World War II, during which he served as a tail gunner on reconnaissance planes in the South Pacific.
“He was proud of his country just as much,” said his son, also George, in an interview Wednesday morning, a day after the 90-year-old was struck and killed on Main Road in Jamesport by an alleged drunken driver. (more…)

A Jamesport man was arrested Sunday on a drunk driving charge in Mattituck, Southold Town police said.
Christopher Eckie, 44, was driving a red Chevy westbound on Route 25 at around 5 p.m. and crossed over the solid white line into the shoulder several times, police said.
Mr. Eckie was charged with driving while intoxicated after he failed sobriety tests, officials said.
He was transported to police headquarters and held for arraignment, police said.
