The rise of the craft beer industry in the past few years has been well documented by the national media.
In fact, The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Budweiser is shifting its marketing strategy to combat the proliferation of microbreweries — and even smaller nanobreweries — and enhance its appeal to a younger audience as loyal Bud fans age and a new generation of beer lovers gravitates toward specialty brews. Almost two years after its owners launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to start a craft brewery, Moustache Brewing Company made its official debut last weekend. The start-up venture in Riverhead, which is owned by East Islip couple Matt and Lauri Spitz, was a vendor at the annual Long Island Nano Cask Ale Festival in Rocky Point Jan. 25 and 26. “We had an awesome response to our beers,” Ms. Spitz said. “A lot of people kept coming back to try them.” (more…)
