New York State Police reported the following arrests Jan. 12 through Jan. 18:
• Steven Skiba of Flanders, 52, was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. On Jan. 15, state police said Mr. Skiba was stopped for speeding while he was driving northbound on Route 24 in Flanders. Following an investigation, he was arrested.
• A 39-year-old Riverhead man was arrested on Jan. 17 on a charge of driving while intoxicated. According to police, Juan Cojon-Canteo was stopped for multiple vehicle and traffic violations while traveling westbound on E. Main Street west of County Road 58.
Clerks at three stores in Flanders and Riverhead were arrested Wednesday during an “Underage Drinker Enforcement Action” in Southampton and Riverhead towns Wednesday, state police said. (more…)
A Riverhead woman driving with three children in her vehicle was arrested under Leandra’s Law Monday night after a traffic stop downtown, New York State Police said.
Serina V. Jackson, 36, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after failing a field sobriety test, police said. (more…)
A Rocky Point woman was caught driving drunk in Flanders last week, New York State troopers said.
Melissa L. Sciara, 35, was stopped on Wednesday when officers observed her driving with a flat tire on Route 104, police said. Troopers allegedly determined Ms. Sciara was driving drunk and had an active warrant out for her arrest for criminal possession of marijuana.
She was issued traffic tickets and turned over to the Suffolk County Police Department on the active arrest warrant.
• A 20-year-old Rocky Point woman was arrested for possessing drugs on Saturday in Riverhead, state troopers said.
Emily A. Sugarman was stopped for speeding on Old County Road and was allegedly found in possession of marijuana.
She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
• A Brentwood man was arrested for driving drunk in Flanders on Sunday, state police said.
Maynor J. Gamoneda Mejia, 30, was stopped for a traffic violation on Flanders Road when he was allegedly found to be intoxicated.
He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Two men were arrested on drug charges and the driver of the car they were passengers in was also brought into custody following a traffic stop Friday night, Riverhead Town Police said.

A 20-year-old Riverhead man was arrested last week after firing a BB gun near the bowling alley in Northampton, according to a state police press release. (more…)

Police from multiple agencies scoured the Calverton and Wading River area late Tuesday afternoon after a mentally disabled teenage boy wandered away from a motel, Riverhead police said. He was located safely about an hour later, police said. (more…)
