Three people were arrested following a traffic stop Monday afternoon on Pulaski Street in Riverhead, according to a police report.
Matthew Rewinski was stopped shortly after 3:45 p.m. and arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and additional vehicle and traffic violations, police said.
Two women reported they were hit in the face in separate incidents last Saturday on East Main Street in Riverhead, police said. READ
A Riverhead man was arrested Dec. 21 after he reportedly struck a 2001 Mercedes ML3 with a sledgehammer following a dispute at Hitman Collision, police said.
A Riverhead man was arrested Sunday night after reportedly threatening his roommate with a knife, police said. James Payne, 49, allegedly grabbed a knife from a butcher’s block in the kitchen, pointed the knife at the victim and said, “I’m going to chop you up to pieces. You’re not going to make it through the night,” the report states.
Darwin Kukush-Chombique, 30, of East Hampton was arrested Dec. 11 around 2 a.m. on Route 58 in Riverhead and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said. READ
Jamie Mendez, 33, address not disclosed, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child last Tuesday afternoon at Riverhead High School, officials said. Police notified Child Protective Services, the report states. Police declined to provide any additional information about the investigation. READ
Riverhead police arrested a woman for driving while ability impaired in Riverhead Saturday.
Kayla Gates left the scene of a crash on Roanoke Avenue around 12:55 a.m., police said. No injuries were reported in the incident, only property damage. During an ensuing investigation, police also found marijuana, they said.
An unidentified person broke into unlocked buses at the Riverhead School District bus garage on Osborn Avenue Monday night, according to a report.
