A Riverside man was arrested on an outstanding warrant Friday based on an incident from October, Southampton Town police said.

Anthony D. Jenkins, 48, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny, both misdemeanors, police said. He was arrested about 9:05 p.m. on Pine Street in Riverside, police said.

The arrest stemmed from an Oct. 23 incident on Old Quogue Road, but police did not provide further details. Mr. Jenkins was transported to Southampton police headquarters for processing and was released on an appearance ticket for a future court date.

It was two days, two marijuana arrests for 22-year-old Joseph Baker of Riverside last week, Southampton Town police said.

Mr. Baker of Kirk Avenue was first charged with unlawful possession of marijuana about 1:45 p.m. last Sunday, Sept. 16 on Nugent Drive in Riverside after initially being pulled over for a seat belt violation, police said.

The officer who pulled him over noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car, and asked for — and was given — consent to search the car by Mr. Baker, police said.

That search turned up a small plastic bag containing marijuana found in a cup holder in the car’s center console, according to police.

He was charged and then released on a field appearance ticket to appear in court on Oct. 17, officials said.

Almost exactly 24 hours later, Mr. Baker was pulled over again, this time for speeding and having a front-seat passenger not wearing a seat belt, police said. That stop was made at Brown Street and Ludlam Avenue in Riverside, according to police.

The officer, the same one that pulled him over the previous day, noticed two hand-rolled marijuana cigarettes in plain view in the center console cup holder of Mr. Brown’s car, police said.

He was arrested again and released on an appearance ticket and is again scheduled to be in town court Oct. 17, police said.
