George Haus

Riverhead resident George Haus died April 10 in Southampton. He was 77.

He was born May 21, 1932, in Brooklyn to Peter and Mary (Zwiepp) Haus. He graduated from high school in Brooklyn.

On April 28, 1962, he married Dorothy Ahlers in New York City.

Mr. Haus worked as a shipping clerk for Scientific Design in Bohemia for 15 years. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus in Patchogue and the Riverhead Moose Lodge.

He enjoyed bowling, cars and bingo, according to his family.

Predeceased by his sister, Catherine Richardson, he is survived by his wife, of Riverhead, and his sons, William, of Shanghai, China, Michael, of South Orange, N.J., Richard, of Northboro, Mass., and Dan, of Cleveland, Ohio.

Private arrangements were handled by Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue.
