Dorothy H. Taylor

Dorothy H. Taylor of Riverhead died March 30 at her home. She was 93.

She was born July 9, 1916, in Dumbarton, Scotland, to James and Helen (Melville) Walker. She was raised in Scotland, where she graduated from high school and earned an associate degree.

In 1946, she married Kenneth Taylor at Old Steeple Community Church in Aquebogue, where she was a member.

Ms. Taylor worked for 10 years as a clerk with the 4-H Cooperative Extension in Riverhead.

Predeceased by her husband in 1973, she is survived by her daughters, Sheila Taylor-Reeves and Elaine, both of Riverhead; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Family received visitors April 1 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. Funeral services were held April 2 at Old Steeple Community Church by the Rev. Ledyard Baxter. Cremation was private.
