* Adam Ehmer, hospitality director at Roanoke Vineyards and an instructor of biology and ecology at Stony Brook Southampton, is bringing his two worlds together to support Save the College at Southampton Inc. In a press release, Mr. Ehmer said he will contribute his portion (amounting to $10 per person) of private wine tastings at Roanoke to that organization in order to “promote two local things I love, environmental education and fine wine” and “support them in their fight to keep the campus open, and eventually create an independent SUNY/Southampton.”

Private tastings of five wines, with light hors d’oeuvres and a guided tour, can be booked weekdays between noon and 4 p.m. for groups of four to 25 people. Advance reservations are required and customers should request the “Save the College” tasting.
