Teeny Award nominees announced

The East End Arts Council has announced the nominees for the eighth annual Teeny Awards, with a host of students from the North Fork making the list.  
The Teeny Awards, a high school version of Broadway’s Tony Awards, recognize excellence in school theater. Students are evaluated on skills in movement, delivery and stage presence.
A Tony Award-style red carpet ceremony to announce the winners will take place Sunday, June 6, at Riverhead High School. For the first time, the event will be open to the public. Tickets may be purchased at the East End Arts Council in Riverhead or online at www.eastendarts.org.

Outstanding performance in a drama: Allegra Mahoney, McGann-Mercy, “The Crucible”; Joseph Pagnotta, “The Crucible.” (The “outstanding performance” categories recognize students who “shine brightly” in roles not eligible for adjudication in the leading or supporting categories.)
