Junius West Bagley

Junius West Bagley of Riverhead, known as “Hawk,” died June 1 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. He was 77.

He was born April 19, 1933, to Lucille Robinson in Virginia, where he was raised before moving to Riverhead in the 1950s.

In 1961, he married Celiner Goode. Mr. Bagley worked at the Eastport Packing Plant for 15 years and later at Crescent Duck Farm. He retired in 2002.

According to his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his bike.

Predeceased by his daughter Pam, Mr. Bagley is survived by his wife; his children, Karen Riddick and Michael, both of Riverhead, and Dennis, of Coralton, Va.; his sister, Vernell Garris of Richmond, Va.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted June 5 at Galilee Church of God in Christ in Riverhead by Pastor Roy Pennon. Arrangements were handled by Seay Memorial Chapel in Riverhead. Interment was at Riverhead Cemetery.
