Christopher R. Militscher

Former Riverhead resident Christopher R. Militscher of Brooklyn died May 30 while visiting West Virginia. He was 37.

He was born Nov. 7, 1972, to Robert Militscher and Frances Vasquez in Riverhead, where he was raised and graduated from Riverhead High School. He attended Parsons The New School for Design in New York City.

Mr. Militscher worked as a freelance photographer for 20 years. A member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead, he enjoyed BMX biking, skateboarding and outdoor sports, especially fishing, according to his family.

He is survived by his mother, of Riverhead; father and stepmother, Deborah Militscher, both of Reeds Spring, Mo.; girlfriend, Amanda Bodner; and siblings, Mary Deluca of Bellmore, and Michael, of Riverhead.

Family received visitors June 7 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, where funeral services were held that afternoon. Private cremation followed.
