Marilyn A. Green of Cutchogue died at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport on June 7, 2010. She was 63 years old.
She was born on Feb. 22, 1947, in Greenport to Lillian (nÃ e Macomber) and James McCaffery. After graduating from Mattituck High School, she married Leonard Green II on May 1, 1965, at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck.
Marilyn had been an executive secretary in the insurance business and had worked for Lupton and Luce, Frank Smith Insurance and East End Insurance.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Green II; four children, Laura (Allan) Jacques of Riverhead, Leonard (Brenda) Green III of Aquebogue, William (Crystal) Green of Jamesport and Brian Green of Cutchogue; three siblings, Joan Tuthill of Mattituck, James McCaffery of Appalachin, N.Y., and Thomas McCaffery of Fayetteville, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Alyssa, William and Rose.
The family will receive friends today, Thursday, June 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, June 11, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck by Father Joseph Staudt. Interment will be at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery.
