Nabbed for DWI with baby on board

Sara Cunnigham

A Babylon woman was arrested Tuesday on Route 51 for allegedly driving drunk with someone else’s baby in the car, authorities said.
Sara Cunnigham, 23,  who was operating a black Nissan, was stopped by State Police about 9 p.m. for speeding and using a cell phone without a hands-free device, officials said.
Police said she smelled of alcohol and that there was a baby, who is unrelated to her, in the backseat of the car. Ms. Cunningham then failed a sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level of .10 percent, police said.
She told police that she did not have her license on her and first gave the name Catherine Rizzo. However, as she was gathering her personal items from the car, police found her driver’s license and determined her identity, officials said.
Ms. Cunningham was charged with felony DWI for driving with a child in the car, aggravated DWI, endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree criminal impersonation and traffic violations.
