Barbara M. Ceckowski

Barbara M. Ceckowski of Calverton died May 29. She was 70.

She was born April 3, 1940, to Arthur and Mary Reichardt in Queens, where she was raised and graduated from high school.

She married Frank Ceckowski in Riverhead in 1970, and in food service at Westhampton Beach High School for 15 years. She had belonged to the Ladies of the Moose and the VFW.

According to her family, she was an avid New York Mets baseball fan, and enjoyed bingo, crocheting and dancing and “loved a good party.”

Predeceased by her brothers, Wallace, Clifford and Stephen, Ms. Ceckowski is survived by her husband; her sons, Donald Owen, James and Wayne, all of Riverhead; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family received visitors June 2 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, June 3, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
