Sisters found dead after making suicide pact

Southampton Police made a startling discovery Tuesday after they responded to a call reporting an overwhelming odor of propane emanating from a Riverside home. Inside, they found the bodies of two sisters they said had made a pact to end their lives together.

Neither sister contributed to the other’s death, police said.

Police say they deemed the deaths suicides after they discovered documents inside the home indicating that the women, ages 41 and 45, wanted to end their lives.

Police declined to release the identities of the sisters, who lived in the Peconic View Mobile Home Park off Flanders Road. Both bodies were taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and to determine the exact cause of death.
