Marie V. Coster

Former South Jamesport resident Marie V. Coster of Ocala, Fla., died July 3 at Hospice of Ocala. She was 95.

She was born Dec. 2, 1914, in New York City to Joseph and Mary (Ahern) McCauley. She was raised in Elmhurst, Queens, where she graduated from high school before attending business school.

In 1941, she married William Coster Jr. in Elmhurst. Ms. Coster worked as a personal secretary and bookkeeper for an interior designer in New York City for 15 years.

She was a former parishioner of St. Mary’s Help of Christians R.C. Church in Elmhurst and of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead.

Predeceased by her husband in 1995 and by seven siblings, Ms. Coster is survived by her children, Edith Ellis of Ocala and William III, of Laurel, and four grandchildren.

Family received visitors July 7 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Thursday, July 8, at St. Mary’s Help of Christians R.C. Church in Elmhurst. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside.
