Earnest Athall Manual

Earnest Athall Manual of Riverhead died Sept. 10 at the age of 58.

He was born Jan. 12, 1952, in Welatka, Fla., to Earnest and Doris (Nelson) Manual. He graduated from Crescent City High School in Florida and earned a culinary degree from Job Corps.

Mr. Manual worked as the head cook for Shellharbor in Welatka for 20 years before moving to New York.

According to his family, he enjoyed spending time with his family, cherished his nieces and nephews and had a great sense of humor.

Predeceased by his sister Charlene Milton, Mr. Manual is survived by his daughter, Christian Gordan of St. Augustine, Fla.; his siblings Charlie Milton of Riverhead, Marilyn Hagans of St. Augustine, and Zelma Stevens, Arnie Milton, Annette Manuels and Geraldine Manuel, all of Sparta, Tenn. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted Sept. 17 at Seay Memorial Chapel in Riverhead by the Rev. Charles Davis. Interment followed at Riverhead Cemetery.
