* A blood drive will take place at the Riverhead Moose Loge on Tuesday, Sept. 28, from 1 to 7 p.m. Donors must bring a signature or photo ID and be in general good health. You can be between the ages of 16 and 75, although 16-year-olds need parental permission. Those 76 or older are eligible to give blood with a doctor’s note. No one who has gotten a tattoo within the last 12 months is eligible. Call Lauren Reichel at 369-9136.
* The New York Blood Center — serving people on Long Island and in New York City, the Hudson Valley and New Jersey — has issued a call for 0 negative and B-negative blood. All donors are welcome, but those two blood types are needed immediately. O negative donors are universal donors whose blood can be transfused to people with any blood type.
