I hope everyone had a happy Labor Day weekend, with little labor involved. Even though another two weeks of summer remain, it really is over when Labor Day passes by. It’s just that the time in between seems to be put aside as we approach school, cooler temps and pumpkins.

Baiting Hollow Congregational Church’s annual yard sale will take place Saturday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. With over 50 vendors, antiques, clothing, housewares and delicious baked goodies will be just some of the items available to purchase. The rain date is Sept. 18. For more information, call 258-8881. Have fun!

Baiting Hollow resident and talented guy Kenneth Pelczar works for News 12 in Westchester. He has won numerous professional awards in journalism in the past several months, such as two Edward R. Murrow regional awards, two Associated Press awards, three Press Club awards, a Deadline award and an Emmy nomination. We congratulate you, Kenneth, and wish you continued success.

Happy 58th wedding anniversary to Miriam and Charles Niegocki, who celebrated on Aug. 31. From your daughter Joan, granddaughter Betty, and all your family and friends, myself included, we congratulate you and wish you many more years of happiness.

My friends Shirley and Everett Robinson from River Road have become proud grandparents yet again. They have a new grandson and his name is Elon Coltrane Robinson. He was born Aug. 30, weighing 7 pounds, 13 ounces, and is perfect. His mom and dad, Christina and Jamar, are very proud. Elon’s big sister, Camden, who is 19 months old, is so excited. Congratulations to everyone. Enjoy little Elon and Camden; kids grow up so fast.

Peaches are perfect now for freezing. They won’t be here for long so eat your fill of them or freeze them, but do something with them. They are so good.

Take care, have a good week, and I will talk to you next time. Bye.
