Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 6. The Times/Review office will be closed, which means I have to get my column in for the Sept. 9 issue by Friday, Sept. 3. If you have any news to share please get it to me by tonight, Thursday, Sept. 2.

School starts this Tuesday. I love my kids but, boy, do I really need school to start. My kids are older now and stay up later than I do, which makes me cranky because I’m up telling them to go to bed several times a night. I thought once they were older I’d get more sleep, but that’s not happening.

Have a wonderful weekend, enjoy the last blast of summer, and please remember to drive safely and sober. I love y’all and don’t want to lose any of you.
