Eileen E. Hunter
Eileen E. Hunter of Aquebogue died Aug. 29 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 82.
She was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Kings Park to Austin and Eleanor (Keyes) Goodier.
She married John Hunter on July 6, 1947, in Kings Park, where the couple lived until moving to the North Fork in 1988.
She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead and a member of the Riverhead Ladies Auxiliary.
Predeceased by her husband, her son Jeffrey and a grandson, Ms. Hunter is survived by her children, Elaine Narciso of Kings Park, James, of Southold, and John Jr., of Southampton; her brother, Austin Goodier of Florida; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family received visitors Aug. 31 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where prayer services were conducted by Father Thomas Murray. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 1 at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead by Father Robert Kuznik. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
