Police: Missing Great Neck man’s body found in Riverhead

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed that the body found in a wooded area of Riverhead Saturday is that of missing Great Neck man Steven Mayer.
Mr. Mayer had been missing since Oct. 4.
His body was discovered by a hunter, police said.
He had been last seen at about 7:30 that morning and last heard from that afternoon on a cell phone call that was traced back to a cell tower near Route 105 and Route 25, according to his son-in-law Mark Klinger.
Mr. Mayer was believed to have suffered a seizure or dementia while driving and gotten lost, the family had said.
