North Fork School for Dogs is the product of Dawn Bennett and Asha Gallacher’s desire to teach people how to bridge the gap between dog and human language and understanding.

After meeting at the 2009 Cutchogue Canine Classic, the duo decided to take their shared interests in dog training and core principles of using positive reinforcement and create a business.

Ms. Gallacher is a graduate of Animal Behavior College and Ms. Bennett is a longtime pet sitter who is also an American Kennel Club evaluator. Both are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and continue their education by attending workshops and seminars across the country.

North Fork School for Dogs offers the AKC’s S.T.A.R. Puppy and Canine Good Citizen programs, pre therapy-dog classes, obedience classes and specific classes that deal with leash pulling, recall and good manners.

North Fork School for Dogs also prepares dogs for service for therapy organizations like The North Star Foundation and Patchogue Rotary Animal Assisted Therapy.
