Business Beat: Eggs & Issues Nov. 18

• Eggs and Issues, hosted by the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at Polish Hall in Riverhead. Two bank presidents, J. Gordon Huszagh of Suffolk County National Bank and Kevin O’Connor of Bridgehampton National Bank will help discuss the impact of the recent Financial Reform Act.
• Riverhead resident Maryjane Raynor owner of Raynorshine Cruises/Cruise Planners in Riverhead has been designated as a Cruise Lines International Associate Cruise Counsellor after completing the certification requirements. She is now recognized in the industry as an Accredited Cruise Counsellor.
• Designers Glynis Berry and Hideaki Ariizumi of studio a/b architects in Riverhead and Orient have received a merit award for architecture from the American Institute of Architects, Peconic Chapter, for their Southold Animal Shelter designs. According to a press release, “the judges especially responded to the interior designs, which gave all users, including the animals, a sense of delight.”
• Hotel Indigo East End in Riverhead will open BISTRO 72, a casual dining restaurant featuring a farm-to-table menu created by chef Lia Fallon, Wednesday, Nov. 17. The new restaurant will be open daily for breakfast and dinner.
• Mattituck Chamber of Commerce will host its November membership meeting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 15, at Cliff’s Elbow Room in Jamesport. Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell will discuss the possibility of a Love Lane Village Green. In addition, nominations will be discussed for the 2011 board.
