Gertrude A. Hasselbach

Gertrude A. Hasselbach of Riverhead died Nov. 20. She was 87.
She was born Dec. 12, 1922, to Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich Valentine in Wuppertal-Barmen, Germany, where she was raised and attended school.
She married Wilhelm Hasselbach in Germany on Jan. 14, 1944, and moved to the United States in 1957.
Ms. Hasselbach was a self-employed seamstress for most of her life, and also a homemaker. She loved to garden.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by her son, Wolfgang Hasselbach, and his wife, Alice, of Calverton.
The family received visitors Nov. 22 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. Graveside services were held Nov. 24 at Washington Memorial Park in Mount Sinai.
