Aquebogue-Jamesport: PCC hosts homeless awareness event at Martha Clara Nov. 5
The Peconic Community Council will host The Winery Event-Homeless Awareness Month tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 5, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Martha Clara Vineyards. The event features a silent auction, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. Light fare will be served. Proceeds benefit Maureen’s Haven. The life of Blanche Young Schoning will be remembered on Sunday, Nov. 7, at the regular 10 a.m. service at Old Steeple United Church of Christ. A native of Aquebogue and longtime member of this church, Blanche died Aug. 24 at the John J. Foley Skilled Nursing Facility. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend this service and the reception that will follow.
The next Indy Teen Concert at Vail-Leavitt Music Hall will be Thursday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m. Three performers will be showcased, among them my daughter MaryAngela and her longtime friend Hope Andrejack of Cutchogue and Lauren Peyton of Manorville. The evening promises to be an acoustic delight, with performances of original pieces as well as covers of other artists. Tickets are $5 in advance at the East End Arts Council; $6 at the door. Old Steeple Community Church in Aquebogue will be holding a Soup Supper on Sunday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu will consist of a large variety of soups to try and homemade breads, desserts and beverages. The Jamesport Meeting House will be hosting another great musical event featuring folk, pop, jazz and country singer/songwriter Carolyn Cruso on Saturday, Nov. 20. Tickets are $20. This will be the only local opportunity to hear Ms. Cruso, as she will be continuing her East Coast tour after the Meeting House concert. So plan ahead to attend this exciting event.
