Estelle L. Rykaczewski

Estelle L. Rykaczewski of Riverhead died Nov. 23 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 89.

She was born Sept. 16, 1921, to Michael and Anna Martz in Wading River, where she was raised.

Married to Frank Rykaczewski in 1943, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead.

According to her family, she enjoyed television game shows, crossword puzzles and watching birds and deer in her yard.

Predeceased by her husband in 2010, Ms. Rykaczewski is survived by her daughters, Darlene Taper of Bethesda, Md., and Patricia, of Redmond, Wash.; her sisters Catherine and Alice Apria, both of Manorville, and Helen Martz of Wading River; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

The family received visitors Nov. 28 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Funeral services were held Nov. 29 at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead, followed by interment at the church cemetery.
