Police seek public’s help in UGG boot heist

Riverhead Police Detectives are asking for the public’s help in investigating a commercial burglarly of more than 250 UGG brand boots — worth a grand total of about $40,000 — from a strorage facility in Calverton.

The burglary occurred at a storage unit at the Dollar Storage facility on River Road in Calverton between 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and 3:45 p.m. Nov. 23. Police said during that time someone broke into the unit and stole the boots which were in assorted styles and colors.

Police are asking with any information pertaining to the theft to call the detective division at 727-4500 ex. 289. All calls are confidential and any information leading to an arrest may be eligible for an award.
