02/02/2011 8:00 AM |

• The New York Blood Center is making an emergency appeal for blood donors, especially those with type O who are universal donors. Foul weather has caused many donors to cancel appointments and blood supplies are critically low. To donate, call the New York Blood Center at 1-800-933-2566 for information about upcoming blood drives.

• John Sciacchitano, a representative from the Suffolk County Department of the Aging, will offer individual health insurance counseling for seniors at Riverhead Free Library on the third Tuesday of each month. He’s next scheduled on Tuesday, Feb. 15. Call 727-3229, ext. 0, for an appointment.

  • Hilda was my was my most loving and endearing friend for over thirty years. I will miss my beach, golf partner and her smiling face more than words could ever express. Fly with the angels my friend.

  • Hilda was my mother-in-law for 18 years. She was an inspiration to me. Through all of her troubles, she always managed to keep that beautiful smile on her face and see the bright side of things. She was an angel on earth. I will miss her so very much. I will miss her advice, her beautiful flare for decorating, and her green thumb. Mostly I will miss her friendship. She was a very special lady. I know now that she has finally found peace. She is probably in God’s garden right now giving him tips on how to make it grow :) I love you Hilda, you were one in a million.. Kerri
