Driver hurt in Northville crash Tuesday

A woman was hurt in a single-car crash Tuesday afternoon on Sound Avenue in Northville, firefighters said.

The accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. between Manor Lane and Herricks Lane, where the driver of a red sedan crashed head-on into a telephone pole.

Riverhead Ambulance volunteers took her to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of injuries town police said did not appear serious.

There did not appear to be any passengers in the car at the time of the crash.

Responding Jamesport firefighters closed a portion of Sound Avenue before opening it up to traffic before 2 p.m.
