Art Beat: Teen art, a piano raffle and arts blog tips

• You can enter to win a Kawai baby grand piano to support the East End Arts Council. Just 750 tickets, at $20, will be sold, with the winner to be announced Saturday, March 19. The drawing is held in conjunction with the 2011 Long Island Winterfest, and tickets will be available at EEAC and Hotel Indigo East End in Riverhead and at select North Fork vineyards. The piano has been donated by Frank & Camille’s East. Call 727-0900.

• Professional photographer Meryl Spiegel will present ‘Blogging for Artists’ Saturday, March 12, at EEAC School of the Arts in Riverhead from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. She’ll discuss how she created her own blog and give tips on how artists of all kinds can use social networking to promote their work. The fee is $30 for members and $45 for nonmembers. Call 369-2171.

• An exhibit of artwork by local teens, dedicated to the memory of Riverhead High School art teacher Vincent Nasta, is on view this month at Riverhead Free Library. A reception, sponsored by Friends of the Library, is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 11.
