A new show featuring East End businesses premiered Friday at 3 p.m. on Plum TV’s Hamptons channel — Cablevision Ch. 18 — and at 5:30 p.m. on Peconic Public Broadcasting radio, 88.3 WPPB-FM.

The show, called The Real Deal and hosted by radio personality Bonnie Grice features the history, challenges and successes of East End businesses.

The show is a collaboration of Plum TV and Sandra Novick of Suffolk County National Bank, which is sponsoring the show along with Kandell, Farnworth and Pubins, an accounting firm in Riverhead and East Hampton.

“It provides insight into successful businesses on the East End,” Ms. Novick said “The way is not always paved in gold; [the business owners] also met challenges that they were able to approach in a unique way for their businesses and be successful.”

The Real Deal is a spin-off of Plum TV’s Beyond the Boardroom, a business show featuring successful business leaders from around the world such as Donna Karan and Donald Trump, according to Helen Zleland of Plum TV.

“I thought it would be great to do a show that has our local celebrities of business, so to speak,” Ms. Novick said.

The 30-minute pilot episode will feature the owners of Peconic-based Sang Lee Farms and the Monauk-based advertising agency Blumenfeld and Fleming. It will air at various times from now through June. A second show will be filmed in June and air in July through September.
