Funeral arrangements set for Baiting Hollow crash victim

Funeral arrangements have been set for the 36-year-old Belle Terre man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Baiting Hollow.

Brian Costello was a passenger in a bus operated by Maryhaven Center of Hope, which runs several facilities on Long Island for the disabled, when the driver of a tractor trailer lost control of his truck on Sound Avenue and flipped, crushing almost the full length of the driver’s side of the bus.

A wake is scheduled for Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at O.B. Davis funeral home in Port Jefferson. A funeral mass will follow at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Infant Jesus R.C. Church in Port Jefferson. Private cremation will follow.

He is survived by his father, Robert, his mother, Carol, and a brother, Robert.

“The family is at the moment, as you can understand, upset,” said Brian Odwyre, the family’s attorney.

The victim’s family does “thank everybody for their thoughts and prayers,” he said.
