Riverhead High School National Honor Society inducts 62 new members

The Riverhead High School chapter of the National Honor Society inducted its new members during a ceremony at Vineyard Caterers in Aquebogue last Wednesday. President Justin Harris led the ceremony in welcoming the club’s 62 new students.

“The 2011 inductees truly represent a cross section of our student population,” said National Honor Society adviser Laural Olsen. “I’m also the senior class advisor, so I know this group of students very well. They’re great kids, and they pitch in and help in almost every aspect of the school and the community.”

Next year’s officers, Kristen Peragine, Nina Gianuzzi, John Rios and Mariah Messina, and honorary member math teacher Art Rowland were announced at the ceremony.

The National Honor Society is an organization the recognizes student excellence in leadership, academics, service and character.
