A silver sports car and a fuel oil truck collided in downtown Riverhead Friday afternoon, jamming up traffic for about a half hour.

The car’s rear end was damaged and the East Moriches-based Jen-Ril company’s truck skidded onto the Peconic Avenue sidewalk, next to the Chase bank building.

The truck’s driver said both vehicles were headed north on Peconic Avenue when the crash occurred about 2 p.m.

No injuries or fuel spills were reported. The car was towed from the scene.
