Roadwork causing traffic delays in Calverton
If you’re heading on Route 25 in Calverton be prepared for traffic.
One lane of Route 25 in Calverton has been closed for the past several days as state Department of Transportation laborers perform work along the side of the road.
Workers have been alternating closing the east and west lanes from just west of Peconic Propane to the Citgo gas station.
It is not clear how long the work will take to complete or what is being done. DOT officials did not immediately return phone calls.
Drivers looking to avoid traffic delays are advised to use Sound Avenue as an alternative route.
