Photos: Aquebogue third-graders raise nearly $600 for Kent

Aquebogue Elementary students in Pamela Argenti’s third grade class raised money for Kent Animal Shelter through their “Pennies for Pets” project this month.

The collection, which was in no means limited to pennies, raised $587 for the no-kill Calverton shelter. The class visited Kent on Tuesday to hand over the check and pose for a few photos with their new four-legged buddies.

“We had a wonderful time visiting our furry friends in need,” Ms. Argenti said.
