Cruise Night cancelled over rain

Thursday night’s weekly Cruise Night event Riverhead is cancelled due to weather, organizers said.

Participants in the car show, which started as an impromptu gathering of car enthusiasts years back in Wading River, moved their event to the downtown Riverhead waterfront last summer after being chased from a strip mall parking lot there by the property’s landlord.

Car show owners don’t like to take their cars out in the rain as it can negatively affect paint and parts.
