Health Beat: Donate blood, get Mets tickets

• County Legislator Ed Romaine will provide two free Mets baseball tickets to those who donate blood at the Tanger II Food Court on Tuesday, July 5, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

• Nutritionist Ann Silver will speak to the Diabetes Support Group at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Conference Room B on Friday, July 1, at 10 a.m. Call Lauren Work at 882-0201.

• Peconic Bay Medical Center will be providing free glucose and cholesterol screenings prior to the 21st annual Joe Koziarz Memorial 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, July 16, at the Westhampton Beach Village Green, where event registration begins at 7 a.m. PBMC will also offer free massages and pre- and post-run stretching for participating runners.
