Frank G. Russo

Frank G. Russo died June 26 at his home in Calverton. He was 92.

He was born March 29, 1919, in Jersey City, N.J., to Francis and Rose Russo. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945, and worked at Colgate in New Jersey. He retired to Calverton, where he lived for 25 years.
His affiliations include St. Isidore R.C. Church, VFW Skidmore Post 2476, Foxwood Village and the senior center, all in Riverhead.

According to family members, he enjoyed baseball, bingo and dancing.

Predeceased by his first and second wives, Tess and Rosemary, and by and his son, Eugene, Mr. Russo is survived by his companion, Emma Pughielli of Calverton, and his brother, Frederick, of New Jersey. He was also predeceased by his brothers Anthony and Patrick.

Arrangements are being handled by McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead, where visiting hours are taking place on Tuesday, June 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29,  at St. Isidore R.C. Church, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
