Eunice DeRonde Woodhull

Eunice DeRonde Woodhull, 79, of New Port Richey, Fla., died peacefully in her sleep on July 25 after a long battle with lung cancer.

She was born in Patchogue, N.Y., on Oct. 4, 1931. She grew up in Mattituck, N.Y., married Eugene Howell Woodhull in 1949 and resided in Riverhead, N.Y.

She was the secretary at Roanoke Avenue Elementary School for 20 years until she retired and moved to Florida in 1987. She enjoyed crafts, traveling and being with family and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Eugene (1979), and her brother, Harold (Bud) DeRonde. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Woodhull of New Port Richey, and sons, Larry Woodhull of Spring Hill, Fla., and George (Barbara) Woodhull of Riverhead, N.Y.; grandchildren, Melanie Villafana (Rafael) of Holiday, Fla., Michael Berendt of New Port Richey, and Brittany, Lauren and Lindsey Woodhull of Riverhead; great-granddaughter Jazlyn Villafana of Holiday; one sister, Marcene Dougherty of Middle Island, N.Y.; and many dear nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at Faupel Funeral Home, 7524 Ridge Road, Port Richey, Fla., Thursday, July 28, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a service at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to HPH Hospice Foundation, 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, FL 34667, Attention: Donations.
