Clara Martha Daters died July 26 at her home in Riverhead at the age of 94.
She was born April 13, 1917, in Brooklyn, to Otto and Frieda (Schwolo) Holzer. She grew up in Patchogue and moved to Riverhead in 1940.
Ms. Daters was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She volunteered for the Red Cross during fund drives and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aquebogue.
Family members said she enjoyed playing bridge and canasta and was a wonderful mother.
Predeceased by her husband, Everette Daters, in 1979, and her daughter, Sally Redwell, in 2004, she is survived by her son, Alan Daters of Riverhead; her brother, Otto Holzer of Los Angeles; and her grandsons, Nicholas and Zachary Daters of Riverhead.
Visiting hours will take place Thursday, July 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, where a service will be held at 7 p.m., Pastor Charles Byer officiating. Interment will be at Washington Memorial Park in Mount Sinai.
