Horace Towler Evers

Former longtime Riverhead resident Horace Towler Evers died Aug. 3 in Deland, Fla. He was 92.

He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked in the Riverhead post office until he retired.

Mr. Evers is survived by his wife, Ruth; his son, Frederick; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
