Accident victim flown to hospital

One man was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center by  helicopter after a car accident in Polish Town Saturday afternoon.

The man hit a parked car at the corner of Marcy Avenue and Parkway Street just before 2 p.m., said Riverhead Fire Chief Nick Luparella at Riverhead High School, where the helicopter landed at about 2:15 p.m. to pick up the man. He said no one else was injured in the accident.

Further information on the man’s identity or his injuries was not immediately available.
