Riverhead: RHS Class of ’76 reunion Oct. 15 — sign up now

The annual “Battle of the Books” was held at SUNY/Stony Brook on Saturday, Aug. 13. This is a book trivia contest for teens in grades 6-8 sponsored by the Suffolk County Library System. Riverhead Free Library’s team, “The Alcatraz Book Birds,” came in fourth out of 19 libraries in the second session and received the prestigious “Teen Spirit Award.” The “Birds” included: Nico Bossy, Philip Kenter, Ryan Lynn, Keely McCabe, Angelika Osiniak and Aiden Saltini. Alternates included: DJ Kenter, Brandon Lynn, Alexia Schmidt, Kevin Tobin, David White and Alexa Wilson. The coaches were Joyce Rienzo and Annie Kromhout. RFL is truly proud of these children. Great job!

Riverhead High School’s Class of 1976 will host its 35th class reunion on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Flanders Men’s Club at 6 p.m. Cost: $50 per person. On Friday, Oct. 14, there will be a meet-and-greet at Indian Island Country Club at 6 p.m. Regina Brown and reunion committee members Glenn McKay and Frank Scordo are working hard to make this a memorable affair. They request that if you see any classmates during your travels to inform them of the reunion and to have them call Regina at 404-399-2544 for more information. They also would appreciate it if any alumni could send in more than the $50 cost on behalf of those classmates who are facing hardships and would like to attend the event. It should be a great time for all.
