This year Maximum Performance Physical Therapy of Riverhead is celebrating its 10th year in business. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Vincent Barry PT, DPT, OCS, MTC, CSCS and Dr. John Scalamandre PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, MPPT has become one of the most trusted facilities for quality rehabilitation.
MPPT is staffed by experienced and highly trained physical therapists, some of whom have taught at the university level and have advanced certifications, including board certification in orthopedics. They specialize in a wide variety of orthopedic treatments that includes joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, spinal dysfunction, post surgical rehabilitation and chronic pain disorders.
All treatments are patient-specific and make use of the latest evidence-based techniques utilizing advanced manual therapeutic techniques, individualized exercise prescription, state-of-the-art equipment including BIODEX isokinetics and a computerized fall-risk assessment and balance retraining.
Maximum Performance Physical Therapy is also a sports rehabilitation facility, working closely with the local schools and organized sports programs. They are staffed with an athletic trainer, AEMT, certified strength and conditioning specialists and a certified sports physical therapist.
MPPT has a second convenient location in Greenport under the direction of Dr. Catherine Barry PT, DPT, which includes a fitness center with a personal trainer. MPPT accepts Medicare and most insurance plans, and their expert reception staff will gladly assist with billing or insurance questions. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
