Not ready to store those golf clubs away? Then head over to the North Fork Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf outing at Island’s End Golf & Country Club in Greenport.

Andy Binkowski, the chamber’s vice president, said more people have registered for the event this year than in the previous four years. About 80 people have signed-up so far and weather forecasters are predicting a summer-like day.

“It’s a great community event for business owners and regular people,” he said. “We try to make it fun and exciting.”

In addition to 18 holes of golf, the all-inclusive day includes a BBQ lunch, cocktails, surf-and-turf dinner, contests and prizes.

Mr. Binkowski said the chamber’s goal is to help local businesses learn from one another on how to thrive in the current economic downturn.

“A lot of business already takes place on the golf course,” he said. “This is a good opportunity to meet new people and network.”

The fee for golf and dinner costs $175. Cocktails and dinner only costs $75. For more information, call (860) 662-0499 or email [email protected].
