Today in sports: SWR looks to make it 5-1 on gridiron

Coming off a hard-earned win over Hampton Bays Oct. 1, the Shoreham-Wading River football team traveled to Stony Brook last week and promptly took care of business.
The Wildcats erupted for 36 first-half points en route to a 43-13 win that improved their record to 4-1 in Division IV. They’ll look to make it 5-1 today when they face Wyandanch on the road. The Warriors have had their own struggles this season with a 1-4 record. They’re in second-to-last place in the Division IV power rankings.
The Wildcats got a big day last week from Tyler Anderson as he rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns. He also picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown.
Shoreham comes into today fourth in the division in power rankings. So the Wildcats will look to maintain that spot, which would give them a home playoff game.
Saturday’s game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
